Ageing is a completely natural process that is unavoidable, but it’s perfectly normal to want to prevent the signs of ageing and keep looking your best. One of the most obvious signs of ageing when it comes to the face is wrinkles, and it can be quite a challenge combating them. However, here at Beyond Beauty Cosmetic, we have a number of non-surgical treatments available to treat and reduce the appearance of wrinkles that are affordable and relatively low risk.
Choosing the right non-surgical treatment for you
At Beyond Beauty Cosmetic, we have a range of non-surgical treatments specifically designed to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and keep your skin looking healthy and younger for longer. All our cosmetic treatments are carried out by UK fully qualified and accredited surgeons and nurses to ensure all our patients have complete peace of mind with the procedures, as well as receiving perfect results from experts in that specific field. Though these procedures are relatively simple, it makes a huge difference to have it performed by a cosmetic surgeon with many years of experience and wealth of previous patient satisfaction.
At our London based clinics, one of our most popular wrinkle treatments is Botox, which is a well-known treatment and has been used in the cosmetic beauty industry for over twenty years. When applied correctly by a qualified and regulated surgeon or nurse, the treatment is relatively low-risk and produces very successful results.
Botox is used in the cosmetic beauty industry as a preventative measure to treat and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. It is applied to facial muscles to paralyse an area and prevent wrinkles developing. The first part of the treatment is to carry out an assessment of your natural facial muscle movements to observe your individual wrinkle characteristics and identify target areas for Botox application. From there, a qualified surgeon will inject the Botox with a very fine needle to the necessary areas.
The great thing about Botox treatment is that it’s quick and relatively painless. Also, due to it’s minimally invasive nature, healing times are a fraction of its surgical alternatives, so we suggest that Botox is much better suited to younger patients as face lifts are usually reserved to patients who are 50 years and older.
Each session typically takes around 10-15 minutes and only produces a temporary stinging sensation whilst it is injected. Not only that, but the results usually appear quickly too, with most patients seeing a visible difference within 3-5 days of receiving treatment – although the full effects may take up to 2 weeks to develop.
We usually tend to Botox patients on a ‘see and treat’ basis, meaning we administer the minimal amount we feel necessary on the first session, then may offer a top up if the initial treatment was not enough.

Sculptra the bio-stimulator
Sculptra® is the compound name for poly-L-lactic acid that is often misinterpreted and wrongly-labelled as a dermal ‘filler’. However, in fact, it is actually a biostimulator that naturally increases the proportion of collagen after injecting into the subcutaneous tissues. With collagen being the main structural protein in the body, estimates suggest that there is a 1% loss of collagen each year after the age of 30.
Since the Sculptra® compound acts as ‘biostimulants’, which essentially encourage the natural growth of collagen to provide much more gradual and long-lasting results. In contrast to dermal fillers, Sculptra® demonstrates effects over a period of weeks and may last up to 2 years simply because the protein must be manufactured by the body. With this stimulated regeneration, patients can effectively restore the volume of collagen in the skin and actively decrease the appearance of wrinkles.
Dermal filler is essentially biological Polyfilla that is injected into the skin in order to restore any lost volume in the subcutaneous layer. As many dermal fillers are simply injected into the skin to fill and smoothen an area of sagging skin, this form of treatment doesn’t promote the natural regeneration of collagen. With this in mind, many dermal fillers may not deliver such long-lasting results and will generally disappear after 12-18 months.
Dermal fillers are an ideal choice for patients looking for informal, non-invasive wrinkle reduction treatments that would like to give their skin a boost and look more taught. This type of procedure is popular with people of all ages, but more commonly, patients are usually aged 30-50 to offer them a more youthful appearance and a natural look. Although non-permanent, this treatment offers excellent results around the mouth, lips and nose.
